RS6000
IBM wanted to emphasize the "out of box" experience
as well as the newly expanded communication aspect of their RS6000 computer
workstation. Developed in several layers, the piece reflects communication's
infinite outreach through the nautilus' continuing spiral. The smaller hands
represent the user reaching out to other users. The larger sketchy hand
in the background reaches past the image area to emphasize a connection
"beyond the box." A rough silhouette of the user can be seen in
the irregular, red shapes adding a personal quality to the piece.
