Creative Direction

Being creative is not synonymous with managing creative talent. This is where we at Rezendes Design are the exception. We provide a vision of your project and a team motivated to exceed your expectations. Providing innovative solutions has been our bread and butter for years. Wish to know what differences we have made? Here are a few examples…

Engauge Branding

The marketing behind Engauge’s survey service relies on the interactions it has with the clients’ districts. Therefore, it was crucial for the identity to align the voice with the visual look. Our design team came up with a mark that not only exemplified the idea of a conversation, but became an iconic emblem that would be the flagship for the division. Using overlapping thought bubbles from the logo, we pulled together eye-catching collateral including ads, banners, and fliers. The new identity played a key role in the development of campaigns and led to further comic-style advertising.

Executive Search Services

Re-branding a very successful search service isn’t without risk. Following a recent logo redesign, we created a dynamic and forward-thinking collateral piece that focused on strong angles and direction. Phrases such as “Setting a New Course” and “Creating the Perfect Fit” were used liberally to accentuate the compass element in the logo. We then carried this modern look and feel through to the website while aligning their updated message with the visuals. A three tiered rollout plan promised to integrate the microsite with the main website and further strengthen the ESS brand with the TASB brand.

BuyBoard

Gathering the team together to revitalize the BuyBoard look and produce a quick presentation that represents the national direction of the product was an enormous challenge. Compound that with a very aggressive deadline and a need for consistency across a variety of media and you have a task that would left even large agencies quaking in their boots. Our team took the challenge head-on, often designing several peices at once with little to no content to go by. Enhancing direction to the mission and refreshing the brand was our strategy from the get-go. We created an online demo that helped woo out of state clients and developed a new skin for the application interface that was consistent with our print campaign. The team came through on all fronts, for which the client was extremely pleased.

BoardBook

Re-envisioning the direction of the application required our cross-divisional team to think about how the materials would translate for print and web. More importantly however was the marketing efforts that emphasized our unique buying tribe over the client’s competitors. Analysis of the market revealed we could leverage core strengths while still offering many of the standard clichés our competitors were hanging their hats on. We methodically planned out an 8-month launch shedule that include landing page development, print materials, application launch, and notices to existing customers. This well orchestrated plan helped BoardBook garner awards for its creative and marketing success.

Cranium Comics

Collaborating with the team of writers and artist at Cranium made the marketing, design, and development that went into the many products they have that much easier. We formulated a plan that involved appearances at annual comic conventions, space in retail outlets, and speaking engagements. We also focused on supplemental materials that help drive traffic to the site such as cross promotion on various sites, a monthly podcast show, and various other contact points including email newsletter campaigns, fliers, promotional materials and others. The addition of the online store has given the company a way to market their materials beyond conventions.

EarthWise LLC

Working with the creative team in developing a environmentally friendly game that let the viewer through a ski slope and eventually taught them about environmental impact. The game was built in flash, with logic that kept score of the characters progress as they went through. Scenarios included the ski-lift, top of the mountain, the slopes, the town then the judging tables. The finale to the game was a trip to the tree of knowledge where the player found out if they succeeded (climbing to the top of the tree and receiving the brass ring, or fell off. The project encompassed game mechanics, character development, and identity and branding.

WiseHires

The Wisehires project encompassed branding, marketing, and web interface development. I worked directly with a small team of developers to integrate the visuals into the application interface. What started from two entrepreneurs brainstorming a better way to manage the hiring process quickly turned into an efficient, responsive way in which organizations could conduct, evaluate, and process job candidates. An identity system that expressed the essence of the company was important and formed the basis with which the UI elements such as color and typography would be based. The success of the project culminated in the founders presenting their work at a start-up expo, garnering positive feedback.

Womack Gallery

Womack gallery site was a project that allowed for better tracking, shipping, and inventory for the client in addition to a design refresh. We worked with the client on detirmining the overall vision for the project, meshing it with an existing marketing mix that consisted of direct mail, e-emails, and trade shows. Added to the mix was an easy to access email newsletter campaign and order fulfillment system. We re-wrote the shopping experience from scratch based on client needs and provided the dashboard from which the client could oversee his business.

Upon completion of the successful Builder Homesite demo, Portaris was awarded the contract for the NewHomesource site. The challenge here was to conform to an evolving use case and collaborate with committee members while simultaneously meeting very tight deadlines. The site was completed sucessfully and handed off to the client for final site implementation.

Forgent Website

Working closely with the design and production team, I oversaw the layout and contributed to the development of the html template pages. Once the final HTML templates were finished, the site was handed over to the client to be maintained. The final site emphasizes simplicity & ease of use given the breadth of information.

CTDMA Website

The Central Texas Direct Marketing Association’s site was created to emphasize a southwestern feel. A layout and logo were chosen that emphasized this idea. As director, my role for this project was to ensure that our departments efforts met the client’s needs.
